Confluence Books Raises Dollars for Dictionaries
September Buck-a-Book sales at the Carbondale Farmers Market supported the distribution of dictionaries to third-graders in the area. The Rotary Club of Carbondale Breakfast proudly provides a Student’s Dictionary to every third-grade student in our local schools, part of a nationwide effort through dictionaryproject.org. Current RCCB president Sarah Van Vooren said, “The joy and excitement from students when they receive their very own dictionary is a highlight of our service activities.”
Confluence Books, 705 West Main Street in Carbondale, tables at the Farmers Market most Saturdays, selling a variety of books for a dollar each, with all proceeds going to a local charity.
