Summer Reading Program at United Way of Southern Illinois
With help from Confluence Books in Carbondale, United Way of Southern Illinois held their annual Summer Reading Program on June 8th. The bookstore provided $500 and hundreds of books for children to choose from. Most of the funds were raised at the May Buck-a-Book sales, held each Saturday at the Carbondale Farmers Market.
Linda DuHamel, Office Administrator at UWSI, commented, “We had 60 children come through our event and everyone was thrilled with their books, activities, and goodies.”
