In collaboration with Artspace 304, and private donors, the City of Carbondale is investing up to $30,000 to commission two public murals.

Welcome, Carbondale! is a multi-year campaign to create a memorable outdoor museum to highlight the depth of our talented arts community and showcase what makes Carbondale unique. Artspace 304 is accepting design applications until August 2 from individual artists and teams of artists who are Illinois residents. Building owners who have volunteered their walls as canvases for these public murals will select the artist or team of artists whose vision they feel best fits their building, during the week of August 5. Winners will be announced the following week and they will install their designs during late summer.
