SIH Robotics Open House and Ribbon-Cutting
SIH is thrilled to share exciting news about the latest advancement at SIH Herrin Hospital—the launch of
robotic-assisted surgery with the acquisition of the cutting-edge da Vinci® Xi surgical system. This
represents a significant step forward for SIH, expanding on its longstanding da Vinci® robotics program at
SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Today, SIH is home to 18 robotically-trained surgeons across both
campuses and offers the largest, most experienced program of its kind in Southern Illinois.
To celebrate this milestone, you’re invited to an Open House and Ribbon Cutting ceremony on
Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SIH Herrin Hospital. It’s an opportunity to tour the robotics
operating room, meet the surgeons and experience hands-on demonstrations of this remarkable
technology. Formal remarks and a ribbon cutting with the Herrin Chamber of Commerce will take place
from 5:15 - 5:30 p.m. Light hors'oeuvres will be provided.
